Harvesting Orca beans. They are so beautiful.

Be honest now, aren't these the prettiest beans you've ever seen! I sure think so. I love dried beans and had high hopes of having a couple jars worth. Here is what I have so far. I think the close up picture is much superior.

Well, there's always next year.

I've never heard of those beans. They sure are pretty! What do you use them for? Soup or ???

My crop was a huge failure as you can see. My plan was to grow them, dry them and jar them. I would then add them to anything like soup, stew, chili, anything hot and saucy. Next yer I am going to grow beans in earnest. My more food and a much better location.

I think these are what we call "Yin Yang" beans. Very good-looking. I grew a few once, but they didn't produce a huge crop.

Mark, you're right. They called them orca aka yin yang beans. Good eye. I hope I get a few more than that little 3" bowl had. Not sure though.
