The recipe we are using for our Back to Eden garden

Paul Gautschi from the Back to Eden movie

The recipe I'm using for my Back to Eden garden is :

3-4* inches of manure first layer...most people use compost, but I opted for horse manure
3-4* inches of wood chips second layer
A thin layer of manure for the top layer

*we used 4 inches of manure and wood chips and then 1-2" of manure on top

I'm so inspired by this man's work since I saw the video via your blog, Erin - thank you for sharing! I'm hoping that I can get a load of fresh wood chips from chipped logs from Hampstead Heath, a huge green space and woodlands in North London; I have a friend who works there. I was fascinated by the way he prunes his apple trees and will be following suit in the spring! Good idea to manure first although depends on what you're planting. Too rich a soil makes some plants leafy at the expense of fruit and flowers. Look forward to reading about your progress!

I've just been catching up on all the work you have been doing. It will be fantastic when all done and you will reap the benefits of all that work.

You are the first person to sound as excited as I am about it. I am over the moon. You know how you will see or hear something and just KNOW that it is something that is right for you. I felt that right away. I have watched many times and each time I hear something knew. Have you checked the other videos that Paul Gautschi has made on YouTube?
