The kitchen renovation continues.

The project continues. The house is much easier to navigate now. I am so thankful to Allan and Rob for doing all this.

We are a bit pinched in the living room still, but it is coming along.

See...we can get to the back door now. Yayyy.

Our friend Rob is working on getting us water on the main floor again. I must say it is the only thing I really missed.

A few pictures of the kitchen, and friend Rob. We have known Rob since high school. Nothing like an old friend.

It has been 36 years in this house...time for a new kitchen?

At the moment our living room looks like an episode of hoarders. No I'm not kidding. We are having to scootch around boxes and furniture.

Early on.

Half of the cabinets out. Look at that old paint colour. It was the 70's and almond was all the rage.

Our kitchen corner in the living room.

Getting there.

New cabinets being assembled.

Cute cat in the living room.

Allan and Charlotte.

Unearthed the 70's linoleum. Isn't that amazing. I gasped when I saw it. I remember thinking it was so beautiful 36 years ago.

And these back splash tiles. We loved them. They were crazy expensive and such a huge decision. So did we really need them? No...but we loved them. They were $6.00 each. I was 22 and made $6.00 an hour. So these eight tiles were a day's pay. I was getting kind of emotional watching things come out. These are still on the wall, so I will ask that they come out when I'm not here. Who knew that kitchen reno's could stir such emotion.

*Update: Allan got all of the tiles off without breaking them. I think I'm going to try to find a place in the garden for them.

Citrus...how lucky are those of us with greenhouses

Today my first Meyer Lemon of the year was ready to pick. Several Oranges were ripe too. Here is the bounty.

Okay, maybe it isn't really a bounty per se, but that lemon is gorgeous. I wish you could smell what I smell.

Look at the size of it.

Here is the 'bounty' again with a Christmas gift I received for scale. Okay, I just wanted to put a tractor in the picture.
