Fairy doors and garden gnomes....I love whimsy, but do they really belong in a garden? I say yes!

Gnome in squash patch.
Fairy door in greenhouse bed.
I love whimsy. I REALLY love whimsy. I brought some fairy doors and gnomes into the store...and I was hooked.
More fairies in the lettuce bed.
Like most people I started out very anti-gnome. I've scoffed. I've turned my nose up when I see them in yards. I have shaken my head in sort of a mock pity.
Gnome in strawberry bed.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME!!

    1. So Jane...you are anti gnome? And funny, my mom always says I should stop killing dandelions and make wine. Have you been conspiring with her?

  4. One's garden style is so individual. I can't support you in the Gnome front, but perhaps a fairy door in the garden would be charming ;-). In fact, I quite like that!

    1. I think a fairy door would be perfect. You could use resin ones like mine, or...there are people who hand craft really beautiful wood ones. That seems more like your style. Beautiful artwork.

  5. And don't forget to add a few ceramic mushrooms too!! They have some fantastic ones out there with bobble heads and great colors/sizes.....they compliment the gnomes so very well. I have several in my perennial bed. I don't have a good place for little fairy doors but will definitely add a few to my raised veggie beds when that garden is finished. Wonderful pictures!!

  6. I haven't seen these mushrooms you speak of. I will keep my eyes open. I get a lot of natural mushrooms in the yard, but not in the summer. That would be cute.
